We are here to partner with you in your health journey
That journey to healing took me to becoming an Integrative Health Coach, train as a MBSR meditation instructor with Dr. Jon Kabat Zinn, a Certified Life and Weight Loss Coach for Emotional Eating, and become a Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner. After a full recovery and thriving health, I spent over 12 years coaching and teaching mindfulness and meditation in Saskatoon; working primarily with anxiety and depression, stress issues and weight loss for emotional eating.
Five years ago, I moved into a home that unbeknownst to me had mold. And I had another perfect health storm. I developed an autoimmune thyroid condition, severe gut dysbyosis and parasite infestation - all the while going through my menopause transition. Not fun. However, because I had already healed myself once from a severe chronic disease, I knew that my body was fully capable of healing if I was able to give it the right support to do so. I studied with the Applied School of Functional Medicine, detox with The International School of Detoxification, and specialized in hormone and gut dysbiosis.
It also led me to add Melissa and colon hydrotherapy to my team to support my journey of healing my gut. I found working with her so helpful and colon hydrotherapy incredibly important for the detox process. The team at Bienestar was such a warm and supportive environment while on my road to recovery that I decided to join them as their Functional Wellness Coach.
I'm Angela - Your Functional Wellness Coach… helping anyone with a pulse.
I believe all health starts with stress: either internal or external. We explore both in your world to uncover what is uniquely challenging your body and health. This also includes what we bring into the mind, to what we bring into the heart, to how all that plays a role in the body and to the health of our gut. I believe health should be approached in a more holistic way involving the mind, body and spirit.
My style of coaching is to take manageable steps toward optimal health. I am very supportive as I understand how challenging making changes in our life can be. I work with people who are ready to help themselves but also need some guidance with the latest science to get their bodies back on track. Although I can help anybody with any health problem, I have a passion for gut issues, autoimmune and hormone imbalances- and of course mental wellness as this was my own struggle to hit rock bottom, and the true wake-up call to my mission to serve people with their health and well-being.
Symptom are messages. Together we can uncover what your body is trying to communicate to you. Autoimmune, gut issues and other health issues can be complicated. The question becomes what is causing the health problem and what is out of balance in life. Fortunately today we have many functional medicine tests to support us in uncovering these root causes if needed.
For those of you who are frustrated that your practitioners haven’t been able to help you, please know that it is my passion to solve what hasn’t been solved by others. Often my clients tell me I am like a detective and that I see things from a big picture view, which allows me to be strategic and efficient.
I want you to know that your body can heal when we understand the imbalances caused by stress and the natural substances and other support to bring it back to balance.
I’m here to guide you.

My health story started as a young kid when I suffered with anxiety, depression, eating disorders and challenges with hormones and pain in my body.. This eventually led to a severe health crash over 20 years ago that had me down to a point where I was barely functioning with much more than a pulse. Doctors told me I had a degenerative brain and adrenal issues, that I would have to be on medication for my whole life with no hope of recovering. Not a good prognosis. As a single mother of two young children at that time, it was a death sentence and it forced me to find some hope and other options to heal.
