Your Friend, the Colon
The colon (large intestine) is a tube-like muscle measuring 5-6 feet long and 2.5 inches in diameter. Its body function is to complete the digestive process and is responsible for absorption of minerals, nutrients and excess water into your body.
Over the years, stress, improper diet, insufficient water, and ignoring the call of nature causes the walls of the colon to become lined and packed with feces. This impaction over time develops into a hardened rubbery plaque. This plaque prevents proper absorption of nutrients and does not filter out toxins from entering our blood stream. The build-up also limits the path in which waste is pushed out, causing more build up to occur.

What to expect?
You’ll be guided to a private room with a relaxing environment and an attached washroom. The client is fully draped. You wear your normal clothes for the upper half, and a clean pair of shorts are provided by the therapist for the lower half.
You begin by lying on your side on a padded table. A small, disposable, hygienic speculum is inserted into the rectum. Water flows into the colon via a small water tube and exits the colon through an evacuation tube - NO MESS. NO FUSS. NO ODOR.
The process is mild and gentle. It’s not painful. Sometimes the muscles of the colon contract, expelling considerable liquid and waste into the tube. This contraction may feel like a slight cramp.
People frequently report feeling lighter and happier, like a big weight has been lifted from their body. You can go back to normal activities, work, or exercise shortly after the treatment. Your bowel movements might be slightly delayed and then resume with easier-to-pass-stool. This is not due to the colonics, but rather to the weakness of the colon. Hydrotherapy can tone the muscle in your colon so that it does not move so sluggishly. A series of treatments may be needed to dislodge years of accumulated plaque.
